Hi
I'm migrating my reports from crystal reports 8.5 into XI. On my
computer everything works fine, but I don't have any success on my
user computer .

The big problem is merge modules.
Till now I was using InnoSetup, but doesen't support msm files (merge
modules).

So I was making setup with WIX setup with these merge modules.
But whithout success
I included next modules:
CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Designtime.msm
CrystalReports11_5_RDC_License.msm
CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Reportengine.msm
CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Runtime.msm

Have anyone any experiences with instalation cavo and reports from
CRXI

I'm using Phil Mermod's Crystal Reports Library for Visual Objects

I download InstallShield Demo (That can import merge module) and I
create the install with only Crystall Report File.

Sorry for my English

Thank you Carlo

I will try with InstallShield demo, but this will be my last try,
because it's too expensive.
But if I calculate my lost five days it's not so expensive ;-)

I use the setup created with the demo. If you execute the ".msi" file
and not "setup.exe", the demo windows will not be showed.

Hi Joze,

We are using Advanced Installer, like other VO'ers. It supports
Merge Modules (We deliver CR8.5 and CRXI already by Merge
modules) and the price is not so high : Take a look at :

What version of Advanced Installer is needed or which one do you
recommend for Crystal Reports & VO?

Hi Geoff,

I guess you mean which edition because, as a new user, you can
get only the last version (6.8 nowadays).

If you need to include the merge modules from Crystal Reports or
other 3rd parties into the setup, you have to take the
professional edition minimum.

If you need to import Inno Setup projects or create your own
dialogs in the setup (which is our case) or create some patches
or deal with databases during the setup, you need the Enterprise
edition.

- AI features comparison matrix :

- Prices of the editions :

Joze,

I found this http://www.randem.com/crsupport.html . I don't know
if it's working but they have a pack for CRXI R2. Anyway, I
suggest you to use an installer like Advanced Installer which is
able to include Merge Modules in a clean way.
